Broadband termination Unit (BTU) ialah unit menamatkan dari Network Access (TM Exchange) ke premis pelanggan. Unit  ini berfungsi seperti modem dan menterjemahkan nadi cahaya yang membawa data melalui kabel gentian optik menjadi isyarat elektrik.

Terdapat dua jenis BTU yang akan digunakan bergantung kepada premis pelanggan. Jika premis pelanggan adalah Rumah Teres, FTTH BTU akan digunakan dan jika premis pelanggan adalah Kondominium, VDSL2 BTU akan digunakan. Panel belakang BTU boleh menyokong kedua-dua internet dan perkhidmatan telefon.

BTU (English)
Broadband Termination Unit (BTU) is a terminating unit from the Access Network (TM Exchange) into a customer’s premise. This unit functions like a modem and translates the pulses of light that carry data over the fibre optic cables into electrical signals.

There are two types of BTU which will be used depending on customer premise. If a customer premise is a landed property, the FTTH BTU will be used and if a customer premise is a high rise building, the VDSL2 BTU will be used. A BTU’s back panel can support both internet and telephone services.

A BTU has:
a) 2 x Phone (RJ11) output*
b) 4 x Internet (RJ45) output
*Only one phone will be given with the subscription of UniFi service

Telefon DECT adalah talian tetap, Set Kord mudah alih yang menyalurkan perkhidmatan telefon UniFi. Telefon DECT adalah alat mudah alih yang juga boleh menyimpan nombor telefon dan nada dering. Pangkal telefon boleh digunakan untuk mengesan telefon jika ia tidak diletakkan di tempatnya.

DECT Phone is a portable fixed-line, in-house cordless phone set to deliver UniFi’s phone service. The DECT phone is a portable device can also store phone numbers and ring tones. The base of the phone can be used to locate the phone if it is misplaced.

Gateway kediaman beroperasi seperti router yang menyediakan akses Internet Berkelajuan Tinggi, IPTV dan perkhidmatan telefon. Ia juga membolehkan aktiviti masa sebenar dalam talian seperti streaming video, permainan dalam talian dan audio sebenar semasa. Gateway kediaman boleh menyediakan sambungan tanpa wayar dengan peranti 802.11n tanpa wayar.

The Residential Gateway (RG) operates like a router which provides High Speed Internet access, IPTV and phone service. Set Top Box (STB) adalah alat elektronik maklumat digital yang disediakan untuk pelanggan pakej kediaman. Ia adalah terminal yang menyediakan perkhidmatan streaming melalui televisyen. STB berjalan pada satu sistem operasi masa nyata yang membolehkan konfigurasi jauh, pemantauan jarak jauh dan penambahbaikan. Perkhidmatan HyppTV berfungsi apabila STB yang disambungkan kepada TV HD. Ia adalah sama dengan TV kabel kecuali dalam kes ini, sambungan jalur lebar digunakan untuk menyampaikan perkhidmatan.

SetTopBox (English)

Set Top Box (STB) is a digital information electronic device provided to subscribers of the Residential package. It is a terminal that provides streaming services through a television. The STB runs on an embedded real-time operating system which allows remote configuration, remote monitoring and remote upgrade. HyppTv services works when a STB is connected to a HD TV. It is similar to cable TV except in this case, a broadband connection is used to deliver the services.

Features of the STB:

  • Supports MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 / ASVC and VC_1 (WMV9) in both standard and high definition televisions
  • Allows users to experience interactive, flexible and individualized services
  • It is not susceptible to weather interference
  • Can be placed either horizontally or vertically
  • Supports both HDMI and VGA output
  • The remote control can be synchronized with a TV’s remote control
